Base pay range: $20.00/yr - $25.00/yr

Overview

Under the leadership of the Program Manager, the Case Manager for Employment Programs will oversee State and Federally funded employment programs, as well as perform employment-related activities, to help refugee clients find jobs and work towards the goal of self-sufficiency.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide case management and training related to employability and self-sufficiency.
  • Develop self-sufficiency plans for clients.
  • Conduct referral to agency services to remove barriers to self-sufficiency.
  • Maintain case files and relevant databases.
  • Submit written reports as required.
  • Provide cross-cultural information and support to employers.
  • Orient refugee clients to community resources.
  • Work to connect clients with supportive community networks and support systems to ensure their long-term integration in the community.
  • Ensure that refugees are being served in a linguistically and culturally appropriate manner and provide education and advocacy when necessary.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assess experience, skills and limitations of clients; identify job opportunities suitable for clients; assist clients in filling out employment applications, set up interviews with potential employers, accompany clients to interviews or arrange transportation.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferable in Human Services, Social Work or related discipline.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate well, building relationship and partnership with USCRI clients, employment partners, state and federal program staff, headquarters and field office staff.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and database programs, as needed.
  • Good sense of humor and pleasant, diplomatic manner with the ability to get along with others and thrive in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission of USCRI, and interest in contributing to the long-term success of a local nonprofit organization.
  • Must have a clean valid driver’s license and insurance, and a reliable motor vehicle.
  • Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.
TRAINING REQUIREMENT
  • Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training.
  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
  • Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
