Overview
DOROT Westchester offers volunteers opportunities to visit with older adults in the Westchester community to enrich lives through meaningful social connection. DOROT serves clients in Westchester and surrounding areas; volunteers are matched with an older adult by shared interests and other compatibility factors. Matches devote an hour on a weekly or monthly basis at the older adult's home. Social workers provide ongoing support to all volunteers.
Opportunities are available throughout Westchester County.
- Visit with an older adult in the Westchester community for an hour weekly or on a schedule arranged with the match.
- Engage in meaningful social connection and enrichment activities as guided by the older adult’s interests.
- Coordinate with DOROT social workers for ongoing support and guidance.
- Volunteer ages 18+; preference for volunteers 50+.
- Commitment to combating social isolation and promoting social connections.
