Community Outreach Worker
Reports to: Program Director or Program Manager
Location: Sunset Park, Brooklyn
Employment Type: Full‑Time (Scheduled for December 22, 2025, to June 30, 2026)
Hourly Rate: $20–$24 per hour
Position OverviewThe Community Outreach Worker will support outreach and engagement efforts in Sunset Park, helping connect residents to local programs, events, and services. This position is ideal for someone passionate about community building, relationship development, and supporting families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct outreach in the Sunset Park and surrounding communities through tabling, canvassing, phone calls, social media, and community events.
- Share information about programs, resources, and services — such as the Tax program, family support, ESL classes and training programs, youth programs, and health or wellness activities.
- Encourage participation in workshops, community meetings, and events by helping residents register or follow up.
- Collect community feedback and help identify emerging needs or ideas for future programs.
- Support event logistics, including setup, translation, and participant communication.
- Work collaboratively with other outreach workers, program staff, and community partners.
- Maintain basic records of outreach activities and participant engagement.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Prior experience in outreach, social services, education, or community work preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong computer literacy skills.
- Ability to engage respectfully with people of diverse cultural and language backgrounds.
- Bilingual or multilingual (Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese preferred).
- Reliable, flexible, and a team player.
- Passionate about community empowerment and inclusion.
- Minimum education is a high school diploma; some college preferred.
- Full-time position from December 22, 2025 to June 30, 2026
