Family Engagement Senior Coordinator - Redeemer Presbyterian Church Lincoln Square (LSQ)

Reports To: LSQ Director of Children’s Ministry (and, with respect to West Side Youth collaboration with Redeemer West Side, RWS’ Youth Ministry Director or leadership)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Work Hours: Full‑time (must be able to work Sundays and occasional evenings/weekends for events, as required)
Band: 6
Start Date: August 1, 2025
Wage Range: $66,500-$70,000/annually

Job SummaryThe Family Engagement Senior Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and executing children’s and youth programs, managing volunteers and supporting community‑building events. This role will work closely with the LSQ Director of Children’s Ministry to develop long‑term family ministry goals that create an environment where families are drawn to LSQ and New York City, finding community, spiritual growth, and meaningful engagement.
The role will also collaborate with RWS’ youth ministry team under the leadership and supervision of RWS’ Youth Ministry leadership to walk alongside middle and high school students of West Side Youth as they explore, wrestle with and take ownership of their faith in Jesus.
This position involves administrative tasks, leading certain discipleship efforts and pastoral care for LSQ children’s, and LSQ and West Side Youth middle and high school students and ensuring that all programming aligns with LSQ’s vision. Key responsibilities will be Sunday morning coordination, Friday night Youth Group, volunteer management, and event support to foster a thriving family ministry.
Job Description 1. LSQ Children’s Ministry (50%)a. Sunday Coordination Support
- Assist with execution of logistics, curriculum, worship, classroom management, attendance, and parent communication for all LSQ children and family initiatives.
- Collaborate with LSQ children’s ministry team to ensure that curriculum is gospel‑centered, age‑appropriate and aligned with LSQ’s vision.
- Maintain a welcoming and safe environment for children and families.
- Rotate periodically with other children’s ministry staff to take the lead for Sunday morning management and set up.
b. Volunteer Management and Training
- Recruit and coordinate scheduling of volunteers, maintaining a volunteer database and communication. Maintain substitutes for volunteers.
- Maintain relationships with volunteers, including providing care and ongoing training and evaluation.
- Plan and coordinate volunteer appreciation initiatives.
- Ensure all volunteers are compliant with child safety policies, including the Evangelical Council for Abuse Prevention accreditation.
c. Family and Community Engagement
- Assist in planning and executing seasonal programs, family events, and community‑building activities.
- Provide logistics support for family discipleship initiatives and provide resources for parents.
- Help create a culture where families feel welcome, known and equipped to engage in the church community.
d. Administrative and Database Management
- Oversee weekly logistics such as sign‑making, name‑tags, and classroom materials.
- Manage the children’s ministry database (Touchpoint), streamlining check‑ins and tracking attendance.
- Ensure accurate record‑keeping for families and event registrations.
e. Vision and Strategic Planning
- Contribute creative ideas and solutions to support the family ministry vision.
- Collaborate with the children’s ministry team on curriculum and programming decisions.
- Participate in weekly family ministry meetings to set ministry goals and refine strategies.
