Help Older New Yorkers -- Volunteer with DOROT!
DOROT ("generations" in Hebrew) is a social‑services organization based in New York City and Westchester. Through a variety of on‑site, in‑home, remote, and community programs, DOROT works to combat social isolation and loneliness among older adults, fostering meaningful inter‑generational connections.
Responsibilities- Serve as a friendly visitor to a home‑based older adult in Manhattan on a weekly or monthly basis.
- Help with occasional errands or tasks.
- Teach older adults the basics of using their smartphone or laptop.
- Sign up for Caring Calls to develop a phone‑based friendship.
Volunteers must be 18 years or older (especially 50+). Applicants may choose between remote or in‑person volunteer roles. All volunteers are welcome to share their skills and expertise.
