Summary:
The Strategic Partnerships and Fundraising Volunteer will be crucial in driving critical funding and developing strategic partnerships for PLA International’s projects in both the US and Uganda. This includes actively engaging with a diverse network of funders and stakeholders, identifying funding opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals, and fostering long‑term relationships that align with PLA International’s mission. There is a high likelihood for this role to evolve into a paid position upon successful fundraising efforts and future opportunities for commission on successful funds raised.
- Research and identify potential funding opportunities, including grants, foundations, and individual donors.
- Develop and write compelling grant proposals tailored to specific funding opportunities and project needs.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential partners, including organisations, businesses, and individuals.
- Assist in fundraising efforts for both US and Ugandan projects, developing distinct strategies for each entity.
- Focus on securing funding for specific projects, such as research and the development of the training and skilling centre in Uganda.
- Collaborate with other team members on the development and refinement of comprehensive fundraising plans and initiatives.
- Work with the communications team to showcase the success of fundraising campaigns and donor contributions.
The Strategic Partnerships and Fundraising Volunteer will report to the chairperson, board advisor, and volunteer programme coordinator.

Desired Skills And Experience- Experience in grant research and identification of funding opportunities.
- Proven ability in grant writing and developing compelling proposals.
- Demonstrated ability to translate project needs into fundable proposals.
- Experience cultivating and maintaining relationships with partners or donors.
- Familiarity with fundraising strategies, particularly for both domestic and international projects.
