Overview
A volunteer is anyone who without compensation or expectation of compensation performs a task at the direction of and on behalf of New Hope Community, Inc. A volunteer must be officially accepted and enrolled by the agency prior to the performance of any task. Family members of staff are allowed to volunteer with the agency. When family members are enrolled as volunteers, they will not be placed under the direct supervision or within the same department as other members of their family who are employees.
Volunteers may be utilized in various programs and activities of the agency, and serve at various levels of skill. Volunteers can not, however, be utilized to displace any paid employees from their positions. The salary range for this position is $0.00.
- Actively perform duties to the best of abilities and remain loyal to the goals and procedures of the agency.
- Receive meaningful assignments and be treated as an equal co-worker with effective supervision and full involvement.
- Participate in the programs and activities of the agency as assigned.
- Must be officially accepted and enrolled by the agency prior to performing any task.
- Volunteers do not have regular and substantial contact with individuals and do not have supervisory responsibilities, and as such are not subject to background checks or OPWDD fingerprinting.
- Volunteer positions are unpaid and residents or clients may be served by volunteers in various programs and activities.
- Volunteers shall agree to actively perform duties to the best of their abilities and to remain loyal to the goals and procedures of the agency.
