The YMCA of Greater New York Association Office is seeking an Annual Giving Specialist.
The Annual Giving Specialist supports the execution and growth of the Y’s Annual Fund and related fundraising initiatives,with a special focus in the planning and coordination of the Y’s endurance andpeer-to-peer fundraising efforts. This role will also serve as a key liaison tothe Y branches, working closely with internal teams and external partners to coordinate fundraising activities, strengthen participation, and support revenue and donor engagement across the Association.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the production and coordination of citywide materials for annual appeals, targeted campaigns, giving days, and endurance events, working with external agencies, designers, writers, and mailing partners as needed.
- Coordinate the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing engagement of endurance event participants, including day-to-day fundraising communications, activities, and support before, during, and after each event.
- Collaborate with the Donor Ops team on participant registration, vendor logistics, data, and other operational needs related to endurance events.
- Serve as a key liaison to Branch staff, maintaining and organizing Annual Fund tools, resources, and materials to support local fundraising efforts, and coordinating communication and participation in citywide initiatives.
- Serve as the day-to-day Annual Fund liaison to Branch staff, providing guidance and resources to support local fundraising efforts, coordinating branch communications and participation in Association-wide initiatives, and responding to ongoing branch needs.
- In partnership with the Donor Ops team, help coordinate annual giving outreach calendar including tracking deliverables, changes/updates, lists, and monitoring email performance and results.
- Support the management, maintenance, and content updates of digital fundraising platforms and webpages.
- Support the Fund Development department with special events and projects as needed.
Desired Skills &
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’sDegree or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in nonprofit development, annual or individual giving, donor engagement, volunteer management, or a related administrative role.
- Experience supporting Annual Fund, monthly giving, campaigns, or peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent creative writing and verbal communication skills, with experience producing donor-facing content.
- Knowledge of graphic design; previous experience with Microsoft Publisher, Adobe InDesign, or Canva a plus.
- Experience working with content management systems, CRMs, and email marketing platforms, such as Salesforce/NPSP, Marketing Cloud, Classy, or comparable systems preferred.
