Support Associate, Non-Profit & Social Impact

The Nonnie Hood Parent Resource Center (PRC) is seeking a welcoming, dependable Support Staff member to help families with young children play, learn, and connect. This part-time, non-exempt position works fewer than 30 hours per week and includes frequent evening and weekend shifts. Work is based at 300 Civic Center Plaza in Corning.

• Welcome, register, and orient families while creating a respectful, inclusive environment.
• Support family programming, parent education, short-term childcare, supervised visitation, and other activities.
• Engage children and adults in developmentally appropriate learning-through-play experiences.
• Assist with records, data entry, reporting, fundraising, volunteers, and community partner activities.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized program spaces and follow PRC policies, confidentiality standards, and quality-assurance practices.
• Work independently and as part of a team, including opening or closing the Center and serving as shift leader when needed.

• High school diploma, GED, or higher, plus relevant work experience.
• Ability to work effectively with children, adults, volunteers, and community partners.
• Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work frequent evenings and weekends and to lift or move 20 pounds or more while performing duties that may include standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
• Successful completion of a background check.
• New York State Mandated Reporter certification at the start of employment; other relevant training or certifications are preferred and may be completed after hire.
