Job SummaryThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care and coordination of all functions in an OR unit during the designated shift. Under the direction of the Senior Nurse Manager and Medical Director, the CNC directs, monitors and evaluates nursing care, serves as a resource for staff, and models commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values. The CNC provides unit‑based leadership and education while engaging staff and promoting evidence‑based practice that supports quality outcomes, cost‑effective performance and organizational change.
Core Job Responsibilities- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of care delivery and teamwork that supports improved outcomes and patient service.
- Educate team members in theoretical and clinical competencies associated with the service line or unit.
- Assist in the implementation of clinical pathways, standards of care, and guidelines for integrated patient care.
- Participate in program development and growth, acting as a liaison between nursing staff and providers.
- Ensure quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and nursing and clinical service standards.
- Collaborate with unit leadership to achieve unit and organization quality improvement and outcome‑based initiatives.
- Attend meetings and conferences to exchange information on trends and best practices in the area of specialization or unit.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school – BSN required.
- 8 years of experience in specialty area including direct patient care and clinical educator experience.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and influence others.
Preferred:
- MSN or working toward MSN with an educational focus.
Required:
- Current NYS RN License.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification.
- Advanced Life Support Certification.
Preferred:
- Certification in area of specialty.
