Nurse Manager - Skilled Nursing Facility | Long Term Care | Penn Yan, NY
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Manager to lead our skilled nursing team in a Special Needs Unit within our Long Term Care facility located in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York. - Lead and supervise nursing staff including CNAs, LPNs, RNs, and unit clerks to ensure delivery of high-quality resident care
- Implement strategies to achieve uncompromising quality, exceptional patient safety, and outstanding resident and family experiences
- Create an environment that fosters staff development, empowerment, and collegial relationships while promoting nursing best practices
- Allocate resources to promote efficient, effective, compassionate, and fiscally responsible nursing care delivery
- Ensure coordination of care across departments through interdisciplinary collaboration and communication systems
- Participate in recruitment, selection, and retention of qualified nursing personnel
- Oversee appropriate orientation, education, credentialing, and continuing professional development for all direct reports
- Maintain compliance with New York State Department of Health (DOH) requirements and regulations
- Demonstrate analytical skills to assess departmental needs, develop interventions, and evaluate effectiveness
- Manage multiple priorities effectively while meeting deadlines and maintaining teamwork through strong leadership
- Utilize computer systems including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and healthcare software such as Meditech
- Provide age-appropriate, population-specific care tailored to each resident's unique requirements across the lifespan
- Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse (RN) Program
- Current New York State License to practice as a Professional Registered Nurse
- Minimum 2 years of recent Nurse Manager or Nursing Supervisor experience in a Long Term Care (LTC) facility
- At least 2 years of nursing experience or 2 years of long term care experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, residents, families, physicians, and healthcare team members
- Knowledge of management systems, processes, and basic management competencies
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective work relationships and lead teams toward organizational objectives
- Computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
- Dedication to creating a healing environment through professionalism, compassionate leadership, and effective communication
- Commitment to promoting dignity, respect, and well-being in every interaction
- Experience working in a Special Needs Unit within a skilled nursing facility
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Meditech electronic health records system
- Familiarity with New York State Department of Health regulatory requirements
- Competitive annual salary range: $90,000 - $105,000 based on experience
