SummaryThe RN Weekend Supervisor will oversee and manage nursing staff and patient care during weekend shifts at our nursing home. This role is crucial for ensuring the continuity of care, maintaining high standards of nursing practice, and providing leadership and support to the team. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong leadership abilities, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Responsibilities- Supervision and Management:
Supervise and direct nursing staff, including LPNs, CNAs, and other healthcare providers. Ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures. - Patient Care:
Oversee the delivery of patient care, ensuring it meets established standards and protocols. Address and resolve any patient care issues that arise during the weekend shifts. - Clinical Assessment:
Conduct regular rounds to assess patient conditions, monitor treatment plans, and provide clinical guidance to nursing staff. - Communication:
During weekend shifts, it is the primary point of contact for staff, patients, and families. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure seamless care delivery. - Documentation:
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care, incidents, and other relevant information. Review and approve nursing notes and reports. - Emergency Response:
Lead response efforts in emergencies, including medical crises, patient falls, and other incidents. Coordinate with other healthcare professionals as needed. - Quality Improvement:
Participate in improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and nursing practices. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. - Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including state and federal guidelines, accreditation standards, and nursing home policies.
- Education:
Must hold a current RN license in the state. - Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience in a long-term care or nursing home setting is highly desirable. - Skills:
Strong clinical skills, including assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead and motivate a team. - Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) is preferred. - Availability:
Must be available to work weekends and cover shifts as needed.
