The Licensed Practical Nurse performs responsibilities that are supportive and/or restorative under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. Provides nursing care to an assigned group of patients, and administers medications and/or treatments upon demonstration of ability in accordance with policy of the Hospital.

• Performs tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Registered Nurse as related to hygiene and physical comfort.
• Medical treatments and selected nursing interventions.
• Nutritional needs.
• Ambulation and exercise.
• Elimination.
• Patient safety.
• Administrates medication as assigned.
• Performs CPR.
• Gathers vitals.
• Transports patients.
• Prepares patients for tests and procedures.

• Graduate of accredited nursing program(s).

• Demonstrates competence and experience in nursing within the limits of preparation and legal scope of practice.

• Licensed and currently registered as a Practical Nurse in NYS.

• Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
• Position will be required to stoops, bends, lifts, carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
