Location: New York

A Brooklyn community hospital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Critical Care Unit. The Nurse Manager will play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care, maintaining compliance with all clinical standards, and fostering a supportive, collaborative environment for nursing staff. This position requires strong clinical expertise, sound judgment, and a commitment to quality improvement and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to nursing staff within the Critical Care Unit to ensure safe, high‑quality, and patient‑centered care.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance management to ensure adequate coverage and effective workflow.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and implement evidence‑based practices to drive continuous improvement in clinical performance and patient safety.
  • Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and hospital leadership to promote effective communication and coordinated care.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and equipment needs efficiently and responsibly.
  • Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Foster professional development by mentoring staff, supporting continuing education, and promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required;
    Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in critical care and 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment.
