Work Type: Primarily Remote (Telehealth)
Contract Details- Initial Contract Term: 1 year
- Renewal Options:
Up to two (2) additional 1-year renewals - Maximum Contract Duration: 3 years
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) provides direct psychiatric and medication management services to students utilizing the College of Staten Island (CSI) Counseling Center. This role focuses on psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and clinical consultation in support of student mental health services.
The PNP will work primarily via telehealth, with on‑campus presence required only when specifically requested by the College. Services are delivered on an as‑needed, part‑time basis, averaging 2-3 days per month
.
- Part‑time, as‑needed services
- Expected usage: 2-3 days per month
- Standard hours:
Monday‑Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Occasional off‑hours telehealth support may be required
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for students
- Provide ongoing medication management and monitoring
- Offer clinical consultation and collaboration with Counseling Center staff
- Support mental health treatment planning as needed
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and compliance with applicable regulations
- Participate in telehealth‑based psychiatric services
- Provide on‑campus services when requested by CSI
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Active New York State Nurse Practitioner (NP) License
- Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification
- DEA License (Mandatory)
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in a psychiatric clinical setting
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Master's Degree in Nursing or related field
- Experience working with college or young adult populations
- Prior telehealth/remote psychiatric care experience
