Emergency Room Registered Nurse Position Location

Elizabethtown, NY

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

This position includes 12-hour night shifts, working 3 shifts one week and 4 shifts the next. Staff are required to work every other weekend and every other holiday.

Job Description

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive care to patients in an emergency setting, addressing a wide range of conditions and patient ages. Responsibilities include performing assessments, coordinating care, administering medications, and providing patient education.

Responsibilities
  • Care for patients presenting with various emergencies in the ER.
  • Document patient care and medical history in the EPIC-ASAP system.
  • Manage IV therapy, lab draws, and respiratory treatments.
  • Conduct EKGs and monitor cardiac activity as needed.
  • Provide support and education to patients and their families.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and 2 years of experience in emergency medicine.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS are required.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system within the last 2 years is mandatory.
  • Additional certifications such as CEN, ENPC, or CPEN are preferred.
