Job Description
American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in NY requiring previous travel and charge experience as well as recent Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities- Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit
- Typical schedule alternates three 12-hour shifts one week with three 12s and an 8-hour shift the next
- Every other weekend required and scheduling may be altered to meet patient care needs
- Use of Epic EMR is required with recent experience
- Charge nurse responsibilities will be assigned regularly
- Charge nurse duties to be performed in addition to patient care responsibilities
- Orientation sessions are held bi-weekly on Mondays
- No block scheduling requests will be accommodated
- Schedules may include shifts on any day of the week
- First day assignments and team structure established during orientation period
- Active NY RN license or proof of application with applied date
- AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certification required (NIHSS must be completed prior to start)
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Recent charge nurse experience required
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is mandatory
- Candidate must have reliable personal or rental transportation as public transportation is not available
- Vehicles should have all season or snow tires if working November through April
