Job Objective and Mission

The Asst. Nursing Home Administrator collaborate with the Little Sisters of the poor to coordinate, direct and help develop and maintain various programs within all departments of the Home. The candidate will work together with the Little Sisters of the Poor to ensure adherence to internal and external rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and assist the Little Sisters of the Poor in coordinating the operations of the Home in such a manner that the hospitaler mission of Saint Jeanne Jugan is supported and promoted as fully as possible, for the job, dignity and comfort of the needy elderly.

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • knowledge of all relevant federal and state rules and regulations governing long-term care facilities and rest residential living facilities.
  • The ability to properly interpret internal, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • The knowledge of relevant business or nursing-related licenses and permits which are required in the operation of a long-term care and rest residential living facility.
  • Strong public speaking abilities, and demonstrates the ability to write and comprehend business, nursing and technical correspondence.
  • Knowledge of standard business protocols and standard long-term care practices in the areas of general accounting, human resources, activities, dietary, building maintenance, housekeeping, laundry service, and nursing.
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in common and essential software programs, the ability to use basic office equipment.
  • Availability in working flexible working hours/days to meet the operational needs of the Home.
  • Communicate federal and state regulatory updates to the Little Sister of the Poor and Department Heads.
  • Assist in investigating and reporting alleged incidents of abuse, theft and/or neglect to the Ombudsman, State Agency, and/or law enforcement.
  • Participate and assist in interviewing potential new Resident applicants.
  • Participate in the quarterly "Quality Assurance Performance Improvement" meetings.
  • Actively pursue a state Nursing Home Administrator's licensure with the assistance of the current Nursing Home Administrator.
  • Be required to complete necessary minimum areas of experience/review under an approved Preceptor's supervision and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the following areas:
    Administration, Nursing/Medical Services, Food Service, Human Resources, Social Services, Finance, Activities, Safety and Admission.
  • Assist in updating the facilities assessment regularly, reporting and making recommendations to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
