The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role focuses on providing direct patient care and supporting physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare staff in a primary care/health center setting.

• Take patients'vital signs, height, and weight.

• Draw blood and collect/process urine and other lab specimens.

• PerformEKGs as ordered.

• Assist physicians and NPs/PAs with patient care and gynecology procedures, including Pap testing.

• Administer/support medication and treatment processes, including obtaining prescription authorizations.

• Triage patient phone calls and follow up on labs, X-rays, and other testing.

• Maintain accurate medical records, lab logs, and documentation.

• Prepare, clean, and sterilize examination rooms and medical instruments.

• Schedule and confirm appointments and help manage the daily clinic workflow.

• Educate patients about procedures, self-care, and health/wellness.

• Maintain medical supplies, inventory, and emergency equipment.

• Follow infection control, safety, confidentiality, and agency policies.

• Participate in monthly Infection Control Committee meetings.

• New York State LPN license.

• CPR certification.

• Associate's degree or equivalent education/experience.

• Some related experience or training preferred.

Location:

Central Islip, NY 11722.

Schedule:

10am - 8pm 4 days a week or 8am - 8pm 3 days a week

Pay rate: $40 an hour
