Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Supervisor for a Long-Term Care evening shift role requiring 1+ year of LTC experience and an active NY RN license.

Details
  • 16-week assignment in a 300-bed Long-Term Care/Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
  • Evening shift, 8-hour shifts (2:30 PM - 11:15 PM), 5 days per week
  • Patient population includes Alzheimer's and Dementia residents
  • Patient ratio of approximately 1:18-20
  • Every other weekend required upon center request
  • Supervisory role overseeing CNAs while managing a medication cart
  • Point Click Care  (PCC) charting system used, experience preferred but not required for consideration
Requirements
  • Active NY State RN license required with no license hits allowed
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Long-Term Care required
  • Supervisor RNs must have 1+ year of supervisory/management experience along with 2+ years of LTC experience
  • Will accept candidates with recent specialty experience in rehab, med/surg, or hospital settings in lieu of direct LTC background
  • Must be able to pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
  • Must be an American citizen;
    Canadian citizens cannot be accepted
  • 1 verified reference required for consideration, with a 2nd required prior to contract start
Additional Information
  • Administer medications and treatments, perform medication passes, and monitor resident conditions
  • Supervise CNAs on assigned units and provide oversight during shifts
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies
  • Facility is a state/government-run Long-Term Care Center offering rehabilitation therapies, skilled nursing, memory care, and wound care services
  • Attire is any solid color scrubs with closed-toe shoes
  • Free parking available; no mileage reimbursement offered
  • Shift cannot be changed once offered
  • Orientation occurs every 2 weeks and cannot be missed
  • Once offered, RTO cannot be added; holiday RTO must be arranged directly with the center after starting
  • Call-outs must be reported with more than 24 hours notice
  • Strong attendance and punctuality required due to strict scheduling policies
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Local candidates accepted
  • Overtime is not typically available and would require case-by-case approval
