About This Role
The Supervisor-Hospice position at NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is a full-time role focused on overseeing hospice services, ensuring high standards of patient care, and acting as a patient care advocate. This role is ideal for experienced nursing professionals looking to take on a leadership position in hospice care.
Highlights- Pay: $84,956 - $143,709/year
- Location: Patchogue, NY
- Facility: NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk
- Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:30pm)
- Work collaboratively with the Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager of Hospice Services.
- Establish and maintain standards related to supervision of referrals for Hospice services.
- Serve as a patient care advocate and role model in direct and indirect patient care.
- Assist Manager in establishing, monitoring, and evaluating standards of patient care.
- Screen inquiries and referrals and process community requests for Hospice service.
- Complete comprehensive assessments of patients referred to Hospice services.
- Participate and/or supervise multidisciplinary process improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and agency policies.
- Collaborate on assessment of patient's clinical status during on-call duties.
- Respond to organizational information requests for reports and data.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
Experience:
- 3-5 years in Clinical Nursing required
- 1-2 years in Community Health nursing required
Licenses &
Certifications:
- Current and valid NYS Registered Nurse License required
- Basic computer skills required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Education, Community Health, or Public Administration preferred
- 9-11 years Nursing experience preferred (at least one year in Homecare, Hospice, or LTHHCP setting)
