Registered Nurse-Med Surg- South Day shift Alt Weekend

The Registered Nurse in Med Surg on 2 South provides professional nursing care in accordance with physician treatment plans, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients and their families. This role is ideal for a compassionate and skilled nurse who thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment.

• Pay: $106,916 - $138,356/year
• Location: Patchogue, NY
• Facility: NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk
• Schedule: Full-time, Day shift

• Collect patient health data by involving the patient, family, and other healthcare providers.
• Perform initial assessment based on patient's presentation.
• Record relevant data on the nursing component of the Interdisciplinary Admission Assessment.
• Demonstrate awareness of the special needs of each age group or culture served.
• Perform ongoing assessments as established by department policy and as warranted by the patient's response.
• Incorporate discharge planning into the admission process.
• Analyze assessment data to identify problems and expected outcomes.
• Communicate expected outcomes to the patient, family, and other healthcare providers.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
• Document the initial plan of care and provide updates as required.

Education:

• Completion of a two-year training at an accredited School of Nursing.

Experience:

• 1+ year of nursing experience preferred for various specialties.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• PALS certification preferred for Emergency Department roles.
