Spectrum Healthcare Services is recruiting experienced Pre-Op Registered Nurses interested in upcoming PRN and local contract opportunities at ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) in Carmel, IN.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive pre-op assessments,including vital signs, medical history, and patient readiness for surgery
- Verify that surgical consent forms are completed and properly documented prior to surgery
- Review patient charts to confirm laboratory results, clearances, and required documentation; report abnormalities to the surgical team
- Initiate intravenous (IV) access and administerpre-operative medications as ordered
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures,including site preparation and coordination with the surgical team
- Provide pre-operative education and instructions to patients and families to reduce anxiety and support optimal outcomes
- Follow established surgical safety protocols, including patient identification, procedure verifcation, and participation in time-out procedures
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)

- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current RN license in the state of Indiana
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Pre-Op nursing experience required
- Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
