Court Square Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate, fast‑paced general practice veterinary team in Long Island City, Queens

Here is What Your day May Consist of:- Providing care for special‑needs boarders (diabetic, geriatric, epileptic patients, etc.)
- Safely restraining canine and feline patients for doctors and technicians
- Administering oral medications
- Monitoring and documenting patient condition and overall well‑being
- Assisting Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) with:
- TPRs (temperature, pulse, respiration)
- Blood pressure readings
- Preparing and maintaining the treatment area for patient care
- Preparing surgical materials and maintaining sterilization protocols
- Capturing diagnostic radiographs (thoracic and abdominal views)
- Maintaining hospital cleanliness:
- Exam rooms, cages, dishes, surgical areas, dental suite, and common spaces
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced veterinary environment
- Comfortable handling animals of all sizes and species
- Basic knowledge of veterinary medications
- Strong communication skills with clients and team members
- Organized, reliable, and detail‑oriented
- Comfortable using computers and electronic medical records
- Neat, professional, and compliant with hospital uniform standards
- 1 year of veterinary general practice or emergency experience preferred
- Ability to stand, lift, and perform physical duties
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs (pets, food, supplies)
- Reliable transportation required
