Golf Course Maintenance (Chautauqua Golf Club) – Seasonal Employment

We are looking for a seasonal associate to support the maintenance of our golf courses and facilities. The club includes two 18‑hole courses, a teaching and practice facility, clubhouse, pro shop, and clinic area. The golf season runs from mid‑April to November 1. Standard hours are 7 a.m.–6:30 p.m. weekdays and 6:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. weekends. The pro shop is open 7 a.m.–7 p.m.

• Perform landscaping tasks including mowing, raking, cleanup/setup, gardening, seeding, sodding, and tree care.
• Safely operate walk‑mowers, triplex mowers, gas‑powered trimmers, and aerifiers.
• Prepare bunkers using hand tools and mechanical rakes.
• Load/unload landscaping materials and conduct manual labor tasks such as digging.
• Conduct visual inspections of golf‑course features to ensure compliance with operating procedures.
• Report safety incidents and equipment repair needs promptly to the supervisor.
• Assist in maintenance of equipment, including cleaning, inspections, and upkeep.

Starts at $16.00 per hour, with potential to earn up to $18.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Flexible full‑time and part‑time shifts during summer operations (June–August) with potential pre‑season or post‑season work. Typically a six‑hour shift starting between 5:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., totaling 30 hours per week. A weekend morning shift is required each week.

Chautauqua Institution offers a referral bonus of $500 (less taxes) for active employees who refer a new hire retained for at least 90 days (or 30 days for seasonal positions).
