Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in New York, NY. The Land Management Professional is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring land and resource management programs to maintain the ecological integrity of state parks. Daily tasks include conducting environmental assessments, managing natural resource projects, and coordinating conservation efforts. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with park staff and stakeholders, overseeing habitat restoration projects, and ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in land management, natural resource management, and conservation practices
  • Knowledge of environmental science, ecology, and habitat restoration
  • Project coordination, planning, and implementation skills
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Proficiency with GIS tools, data analysis, and report preparation
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements
  • Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrains
  • Relevant certifications or licensures, such as Pesticide Applicator License, are a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Ecology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
