Fisheries & Wildlife Bio Scientist II

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission seeks a Fisheries and Wildlife Biological Scientist II to manage habitats and wildlife programs across the Everglades and Francis S. Taylor Wildlife Management Area in South Florida. The role involves planning and implementing habitat restoration, prescribed fire management, invasive species control, wildlife surveys, and public use programs. The position is located in Sunrise, Florida and supervises seasonal employees while working independently in the field.

• High school diploma and five years professional experience in a biological field, or Bachelor of Science degree in relevant field
• Knowledge of South Florida ecosystems, wildlife biology, water management, and fire ecology
• Experience with habitat restoration, wildlife surveys, prescribed burning, and invasive vegetation control
• Ability to conduct wildlife surveys from aircraft and operate specialized equipment such as airboats
• Proficiency with Windows applications and ArcGIS
• Valid Florida Class E driver's license and ability to work independently in field conditions
