Job DescriptionThis role focuses on sample collection and cleanroom support rather than analytical testing. You will play a key part in maintaining compliance and supporting laboratory operations in a controlled environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform environmental monitoring in controlled process areas to ensure cleanroom compliance.
- Collect samples from high‑purity water systems, clean steam, and compressed gases for routine monitoring.
- Support laboratory operations by cleaning controlled temperature units, operating autoclaves, and assisting with general upkeep.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure readiness and compliance.
- Use Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to track samples and associated data.
- Participate in overtime, weekend, holiday, and on‑call schedules as needed to support continuous operations.
- No cosmetics (makeup, false lashes) permitted; all must be removed prior to entry.
- Nails must be short, trimmed, and free of polish or decorations.
- No jewelry allowed except medical alert items or one smooth ring band.
- Hair must be tied back and contained in a hairnet; facial hair must be trimmed and covered.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field.
- Ability to meet physical demands:
- Lift items of 25 lbs or more.
- Walk and stand for extended periods.
- Push/pull carts and equipment.
- Bend and reach for supplies.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn new techniques.
- Proficiency with computer systems and accurate record‑keeping.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction or sponsorship.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments.
- Familiarity with microbial identification procedures.
- Environmental monitoring experience.
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations and LIMS systems.
- 10–15 minute phone interview with region recruiter.
- 45–60 minute virtual interview with manager and/or group leader.
- 30 minute virtual meeting with site director.
This is a full‑time, onsite position based on a first‑shift schedule Wednesday through Saturday, with overtime required as needed. Training is Monday through Friday from 7:00 am–3:30 pm. Candidates located within a commutable distance to Rensselaer, New York, are strongly encouraged to apply.
