Location: Town of Italy
The Lead auditor's primary function is to plan and conduct audits for SA8000 as per relevant program requirement, maintain audit independence, and complete the audit report and other required post-audit activities. May also be required to perform any other necessary duties within their experience and capabilities from time to time.
What You Will Do:
- Plan, schedule and conduct initial, surveillance and re-certification audits.
- Prepare and maintain audit logs and all other required documentation.
- Prepare and issue reports and recommendations for certification.
- Lead introductory and closing meetings at clients’ facilities.
- Set high standards to achieve results.
- Maintain audit independence without involvement in business development activities.
- Additional program-specific roles and responsibilities defined in ABS QE program procedure.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited university
- Minimum five (5) years of industry experience preferred.
- Previous experience working for Certification Body.
- SA8000 Basic and Advanced Lead Auditor
- CSCA Active Approval/Registration/Qualification
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 lead auditor - Desirable.
- Language - Italian & English are mandatory and Spanish will be great!

- Familiarity with appropriate system standards. Competent in the areas to be assessed.
- Excellent decision making and organization skills.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to work with moderate supervision.
- Exhibit teamwork.
- Concerned for accuracy of work performed.
- Flexible in achieving duties.
- Knowledge of Italian Labor Legislation and EU general directives.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to the Operations Manager and in dotted line to Technical Manager.
