PURPOSE: Reporting to the Quality & ISO Manager, duties will include implementing & maintaining the company’s Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 Standard and future ISO standards.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for establishing a culture of quality within the facility striving for full employee engagement in implementing and maintaining the highest manufactured quality and management systems for the Packaging Facility and Distribution Center.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
  • Responsible for identifying and resolving quality problems:
  • Review results for possible blending/formula and packaging/labeling problems which require re- sampling and/or correction.
  • Assist the Lab Manager on reviewing and evaluating off-spec results and institute solutions.
  • Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, using lean methods.
  • Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment
  • Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is being followed and properly maintained.
  • Develop training to build quality awareness.
  • Supervise the Quality personnel in the plant by managing their time, oversee their assignments and follow up on their open issues.
  • Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective actions.
  • Analyze failure, create corrective action to respond to customer complaints.
  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
  • Continuously improving QA receiving inspection process and procedures.
  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions.
  • Preparation of QA reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Work with Manufacturing to solve in-house quality concerns, reviews of nonconforming product, recommends disposition.
  • Manage Customer Complaints
  • Additional duties as assigned
Required Education/Experiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience involving training in a formal classroom and/or on the job work experiences.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Total Quality Fundamentals
  • Certified Internal Auditor
  • Available to answer calls on off shifts
  • Ability to understand and operate basic product testing equipment
  • Perform physical duties, including but not limited to pushing, pulling, lifting, twisting, and walking; lift up to 50lbs repeatedly
Competencies
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills. Use of appropriate written and verbal language and grammar; conveys clear written messages in learning content that is organized and easy to follow.
  • Highly organized
  • Computer skills with MS Office, especially MS Word and Power Point.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to facilitate in a lead capacity and be comfortable with using good judgment to make independent decisions based upon limited information and time.
