Senior Quality Manager
We’re representing a well-established, growing food & beverage manufacturer seeking a proven Senior Quality Manager to join its leadership team. The Senior Quality Manager will develop and oversee a comprehensive quality and food safety strategy that ensures product integrity, regulatory compliance, and consistent operational performance across production.
Location: Central New York State
Pay Range$120,000 - $165,000 per year (base).
Job Responsibilities- Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Ensure all processes, documentation, and facility practices align with applicable regulatory requirements and established food industry standards.
- Direct root cause investigations for quality issues or nonconformities, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee product quality monitoring, testing, and verification programs to maintain consistency, performance, and product release control.
- Develop and lead training programs focused on sanitation, hygiene, allergen control, handling practices, and quality system expectations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, and other internal partners to support production standards, product trials, and change management.
- Track, analyze, and present key quality and food safety metrics to leadership to support data-based decision‑making.
- Lead and develop quality, lab, and/or technician teams while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and communication.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of all quality‑related documentation, including procedures, testing records, and change controls.
- Support internal, customer, and third‑party audit preparation and response efforts.
- Identify opportunities to optimize processes while upholding strong food safety and quality standards.
- Provide leadership support across multiple shifts or operational schedules as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related technical field preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive quality assurance experience in food and/or beverage manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of food safety systems, quality frameworks, and compliance programs such as HACCP and related industry standards.
- Proven leadership experience managing quality or laboratory teams in a production environment.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to influence and drive cross‑functional alignment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard documentation or quality management software tools.
