The RoleUnder the direction of the Director of Quality Assurance/Compliance and in concert with the agency’s mission and goal of sustaining high quality care/service delivery to clients, the Quality Assurance Analyst will work closely with assigned sites to ensure compliance with agency, state, and federal regulatory requirements and agency/program readiness for internal and external audits/reviews. The QA Analyst will also review, follow up and close incidents occurring at assigned sites.
This work supports the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.
- Conduct timely and complete quality reviews on a representative sample of treatment records for assigned sites.
- Conduct timely scheduled/required utilization reviews for assigned agency sites.
- Review incidents on program caseload to determine if follow up is needed from program staff; provide guidance to program until incident is ready to be closed.
- Investigate incidents/allegations as needed.
- Monitor and evaluate activities and report writing for incident data.
- Attend monthly and other required QA committee meetings, prepare accurate and timely meeting minutes and required monthly/quarterly reports, and participate in the agency’s Quality Improvement/Utilization Management committee.
- Handle timely aggregation and documentation of record reviews conducted to ensure the quality and appropriateness of services for the Client Services Quality Improvement and Utilization Management Committee.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field.
- Minimum of Two (2) years of Quality Assurance experience in the Human Services field (preferred in DHS, OASAS, OMH).
- Willingness and ability to travel to agency sites.
- Knowledgeable in HIPAA & 42 CFR regulations.
- Experience with incident identification, reporting and identification.
This hybrid position is based at our Briarwood, Queens headquarters and supports programs across all five boroughs. Regular travel to program sites is required. The role is expected to work on-site—either at headquarters or a program location—three days per week, with the remaining two days remote. The Quality Improvement Specialist works a 5‑day work week, with some flexibility around working days and standard working hours (example: 9 am–5 pm, 8 am–4 pm, or 10 am–6 pm) based on mutual agreement with the supervisor.
