We are seeking a QA Automation Architect for a 6-month contract position based in New York, NY, working in a hybrid model. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role requiring deep expertise in modern automation frameworks, AI-driven QA practices, and enterprise‑scale testing strategies. You will lead the design and implementation of scalable automation solutions, drive quality initiatives across distributed teams, and collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to enable high‑quality releases.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright and Type Script
- Implement UI, API, and end‑to‑end test automation strategies
- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, or similar)
- Define and implement test strategies, quality gates, and reporting metrics
- Drive AI‑based QA initiatives, including test generation, optimization, and self‑healing tests
- Identify and resolve test flakiness and performance bottlenecks
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and client stakeholders
- Lead and mentor QA teams across onsite and offshore locations
- Establish best practices, coding standards, and reusable automation components
- Required
- 10+ years of experience in QA and test automation
- Proven experience as a QA Automation Architect or Staff QA Engineer
- Hands‑on expertise with Playwright
- Hands‑on expertise with Type Script
- Demonstrated ability building automation frameworks from scratch
- Experience with UI automation and API testing
- Strong understanding of CI/CD integration and Dev Ops practices
- Experience with AI/ML in QA, including test generation, predictive analysis, or intelligent automation
- Excellent debugging, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
- Strong communication and client‑facing experience
- Preferred
- Experience with Playwright MCP Server or AI‑based automation tools
- Insurance or regulated domain experience
- Experience working in onsite‑offshore delivery models
