The
D.
E. Shaw Group seeks a highly skilled research analyst to join its rapidly expanding Strategic Intelligence team in the firm’s new Denver office. This team is dedicated to enhancing the firm’s long‑cycle, thematic industry coverage and delivering in‑depth trend analysis to support investment decision‑making. As part of a collaborative and innovative group, this role will play a key part in developing unique insights that inform the firm’s fundamental investments.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a collegial and engaging environment, contributing to long‑term sector research and intelligence capabilities for the firm’s Fundamental Equities and Credit teams.
- Conduct consultations and attend conferences on behalf of analysts to gather targeted insights from industry experts, stakeholders, and other key sources.
- Produce clear, concise written summaries of your findings for dissemination across the team.
- Be responsible for ongoing monitoring, tracking, and evaluation of positions, signals, and related market developments.
- Support strategic research initiatives tied to long‑term sector themes.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least two years of relevant experience are required—experience in research, investment analysis, economics, or a related field is preferred.
- A demonstrated record of academic and professional achievement, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Keen analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to synthesize and communicate complex information clearly.

- The expected annual base salary for this position is $120,000 to $145,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year‑end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
