Overview of Information & Research Center:
The Information & Research Specialist, Healthcare plays a key role at L.E.K., providing best‑in‑class perspectives on secondary research and sources to our consulting team members working to solve our client’s critical strategic problems. As a member of the US Information & Research Center (IRC) team, the Specialist enables consulting staff to quickly identify and access the most relevant data and information available, and provides insight, caveats, and recommendations to assist consulting staff in understanding how content fits within the context of their project.
The Information & Research Specialist will serve as a trusted advisor and support L.E.K.’s Life Science (Biotech & Pharma, and Enablers), Med Tech, and Healthcare Services sectors. This position reports to the Director of the IRC and will receive ongoing mentorship, guidance and training.
- Support consulting staff by understanding their questions and goals for secondary research and information to support project work.
- Collaborate with IRC team members, consulting team members, and others to identify the most relevant resources and/or methods available for research needs.
- Work with staff in other departments (e.g., Data & Analytics, Sector Specialists) to develop internal resources for specific projects or for general use.
- Share updates and perspectives with IRC staff and support staff to further the firm’s efficient secondary research practices.
- Proactively seek out new resources and continually expand knowledge of sector trends and business issues.
- Leverage internal resources and information streams to hone applicability of research approaches and resources.
- Assist the Director in the assessment, selection and management of online, electronic and print resources.
- Support Managing Directors, Principals, and client development teams in gathering information for business development purposes.
- Contribute content to the US IRC’s knowledge bases to serve as reference points for both consulting and IRC staff.
- Contribute to various other work streams that promote the success of the IRC and the firm.
- Regularly participate in skill development activities, both internally and externally.
- Continually deepen and broaden the skill set.
- Master’s Degree in Library and/or Information Science or equivalent work experience in providing business‑related secondary research support.
- Experience supporting company and industry research and analysis, preferred in life science and healthcare services.
- Working knowledge of search functionality available in business, life science, and healthcare research databases such as Evaluate Pharma, the Citeline suite, Global Data, and more.
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently as required.
- Ability to organize work and negotiate workload to meet deadlines.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively manage ambiguity.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and critical‑thinking skills.

- L.E.K. Consulting has a hybrid work model in place for our U.S. offices.
- In California, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New York, the base salary is between $65,000 - $85,000 (USD); placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level. L.E.K. also offers a performance bonus, profit sharing, and other benefits.
