A leading, well‑funded biotech is seeking an accomplished scientific leader to head its Skeletal Muscle and Cardiometabolic Biology efforts at a growing New York research site. This position will play a key role in shaping the company’s discovery portfolio and driving early programs toward development.

The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in skeletal muscle and/or cardiometabolic disease biology with a strong record of scientific leadership, strategic vision, and hands‑on management in small molecule drug discovery.

• Serve as the site biology lead, guiding scientific direction and program strategy in skeletal muscle and cardiometabolic discovery.
• Lead and mentor a team of five scientists, providing both strategic and hands‑on scientific support.
• Drive early‑stage drug discovery programs from target validation through IND‑enabling studies.
• Collaborate closely with chemistry, data science, and translational teams to advance programs efficiently.
• Shape and expand the discovery portfolio, providing cross‑functional leadership and strategic insight.
• Foster an innovative, collaborative environment that emphasizes mentorship and scientific excellence.

• Ph.D. in a relevant biological discipline with 10+ years of industry experience in small‑molecule discovery.
• Proven expertise in skeletal muscle, cardiometabolic, or metabolic disease biology.
• Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary discovery programs within biotech or pharma.
• Prior experience managing teams or serving as a lab head strongly preferred.
• Strong publication record and evidence of advancing projects from concept to IND.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
