Sell-Side Equity Research Associate

Mercor is hiring on behalf of a leading AI-enabled research lab seeking a Sell-Side Equity Research Analyst / Associate to produce data-backed insights, forecasts, and coverage reports for institutional investors. The role blends traditional equity research with exposure to automation and AI-driven analytics, supporting the delivery of high-quality research across key market sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead sector coverage by monitoring companies, market trends, and industry developments.

• Develop and maintain detailed financial models and forecasts.

• Prepare and publish research notes, coverage reports, and earnings summaries for institutional clients.

• Collaborate with data teams to integrate automation, AI tools, and quantitative signals into research workflows.

• Present findings and insights to senior analysts, clients, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in sell-side equity research, covering a specific sector (e.g., tech, industrials, healthcare, etc.).

• Proficiency in Excel modeling, valuation, and financial statement analysis.

• Strong writing, presentation, and client communication skills.

• Familiarity with Bloomberg, Fact Set, and exposure to data visualization or automation tools.

• Quantitative mindset — able to blend traditional analysis with structured data insights.

• Degree in Finance, Economics, or STEM preferred; CFA or progress toward it a plus.
