The Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Biomedical Sciences (MCBS) invites applications for a Research Technician position to support ongoing projects in cardiovascular and metabolic biology. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team investigating mechanisms of cardiac and metabolic dysfunction, with particular focus on molecular pathways regulating calcium handling, mitochondrial function, and myocardial remodeling.
* Perform laboratory experiments under supervision, including cell culture, molecular biology assays, and biochemical analyses.
* Assist with animal studies, including surgeries, genotyping, sample collection, and physiological measurements.
* Maintain detailed laboratory records and assist with data entry, analysis, and presentation.
* Prepare reagents, manage lab inventory, orders, and ensure proper maintenance of equipment and compliance with safety protocols.
* Contribute to the preparation of figures and materials for manuscripts, grant proposals, and presentations.
* Support the training of students and coordinate with other lab members to ensure efficient operation of research activities.
* Other duties as assigned.

* Minimum Qualifications:

*** Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology, or a related field.
* Prior research or laboratory experience in molecular, cellular, or physiological techniques.
* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Experience with rodent handling, surgical, and physiological procedures.
* Familiarity with molecular and cellular techniques including PCR, Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and calcium imaging.
* Strong interest in cardiovascular and metabolic research and willingness to learn new methods.
* Commitment to maintaining a collaborative and inclusive research environment.

Pay Range:$65,000 - $69,600
