A Research Scholar position with focus on bioinformatics is available at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine with Dr. Patricia Diaz’s research team.
The research activities will consist of:- Implement and evaluate existing algorithms for the analysis of intra-species strain variability in the oral microbiome.
- Contribute to the development of novel pipelines to resolve strains in metagenomes.
- Evaluate the relationships of strains with periodontal disease.
- Participate in weekly laboratory meeting, presenting and discussing data.
- Assist in manuscript preparation and writing.

Minimum Qualifications- Doctoral degree or the equivalent from a foreign university in the relevant discipline.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree on a year for year basis.
- Graduate Degree in Bioinformatics
Driving Requirements This position will never drive a university owned vehicle.
Salary RangeSalary Range $38,000 - $42,000
Additional Salary InformationThe salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
