Position: RESEARCH ANAYLYST - CPG
Location: New York

Position Overview

is looking for a product insights analyst with a go-getter attitude and passion for the CPG space. This role is for a part-time contract position (10-15 hours per week to start) with the opportunity to expand to a full time role after mutual evaluation.

As a member of the portfolio-level Tech Team, you will conduct quantitative and qualitative research, working with the team to deliver actionable insights.

We are looking for a research savvy professional to analyze trends and surface insights across categories such as beauty, food, and wellness. The ideal candidate is adept at conducting whitespace analysis, market research, and translating findings into deliverables like graphs and spreadsheets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support new and existing brand development through market data and research including market sizing, trend reports, whitespace matrices, and competitive landscape mapping
  • Utilize primary and syndicated research databases to provide quantitative and qualitative data for existing and new brands
  • Fulfill ad-hoc research requests across a variety of data including: sales trends, market insights, consumer insights, competitive positioning and overall marketplace trends
  • Support technical data presentations by assisting with deliverable execution and design
  • Support new category creation through labeling and organizing data
  • Update and maintain databases
  • Develop and conduct product and user surveys
Qualifications
  • Recent grads preferred, but not required
  • 2+ years of academic or professional experience carrying out quantitative survey research (i.e., scoping research, survey development, analysis and presentation) and quantitative sales and trend analysis (i.e., YOY growth, dollar share, unit sales)
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint are a must. Proficiency with other analytic and database tools and resources is a plus
  • Polished and professional interpersonal style with strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask while remaining communicative
