Position Detail Information Position SummaryA Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available for an NIH-funded position in the lab of Prof. Andrew Gulick within the Department of Structural Biology, Jacobs Schoolof Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo.
The Gulick Lab investigates the structural enzymology of proteins involved in the biosynthesis of bacterial natural products. Throughcombinations of structural biology, biochemical characterization, protein engineering, and biocatalysis, we aim to explore the ability of bacteria to produce diverse small molecules that are produced to help them adapt to the challenges of surviving indiverse environments.
The postdoctoral associate will be responsible for:- protein production, purification, and analysis, including development and implementation of biochemical assays
- informatic and genome mining to identify, characterize, and understand the diverse biosynthetic pathways of bacterialsources
- protein structure determination through X-ray crystallographyand/or cryo-electron microscopy and single particle analysis
- Data analysis, maintenance, and interpretation, includingcontributions on authoring publications and disseminationofresearch
- Our benefits, where we prioritize your well-beingand success to enhance every aspect of your life.
- Being a part of the University at Buffalocommunity.
