Research Scientist, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Research Assistant/Associate, Biomedical Science
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will contribute to research investigating the effects of electrical spinal cord stimulation on motor and autonomic control pathways. The fellow will conduct and support spinal cord stimulation mapping studies in rodent models and analyze descending neural connections to advance understanding of how motor and autonomic systems interact within the spinal cord.
The fellow will also contribute to broader research activities within the Movement Recovery Lab. Responsibilities will include conducting experimental procedures, collecting and analyzing research data, interpreting findings, contributing to scientific discussions, and supporting related investigations aligned with the laboratory’s research objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct spinal cord stimulation mapping studies using established rodent research models.
- Investigate the effects of spinal cord stimulation on motor and autonomic control pathways.
- Perform and support experimental procedures in accordance with approved research protocols.
- Analyze descending neural connections and their interactions within the spinal cord.
- Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data using appropriate research methods.
- Interpret research findings and contribute to the development of scientific conclusions.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive experimental records and research documentation.
- Participate in laboratory meetings, research discussions, and collaborative scientific activities.
- Contribute to manuscripts, presentations, reports, and other scientific communications as appropriate.
- Support additional research projects and experimental activities within Dr. Carmel’s research program.
- Collaborate with other members of the laboratory and research team to advance the overall goals of the research program
