Location: New York
This Research Scientist 5 position at the New York State Psychiatric Institute provides scientific direction for single-cell and spatial genomics initiatives supporting translational psychiatry research. The role involves developing computational pipelines, optimizing laboratory workflows for transcriptomic and epigenomic assays, and mentoring multidisciplinary teams to advance understanding of mental illness. The Institute, affiliated with Columbia University and New York Presbyterian Hospital, offers a state-of-the-art research environment in Manhattan.
Keyqualifications:
- Master's Degree and five years of professional research experience in appropriate field, OR doctorate and three years such experience
- Experience with single-cell and spatial genomics, transcriptomic, or epigenomic assays
- Expertise in computational pipeline development for large-scale genomics datasets (scRNA-seq, snRNA-seq, spatial omics)
- Experience in human subject research or human research protections program setting (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to mentor multidisciplinary teams and generate rigorous research outputs for publications and grants
