HARVEST KITCHEN, a fresh and health-focused farm-to-table restaurant in the heart of Manhattan, is looking for a passionate and energetic Full-Time Harvest Expert. This role is ideal for someone who is knowledgeable about organic produce, supports sustainable food sourcing, and thrives in a fast‑paced kitchen environment. As a Harvest Expert, you will ensure the highest quality ingredients are received, handled, and prepared, keeping the freshness and nutritional integrity of every meal we serve.
Job Responsibilities- Receive and inspect produce deliveries from local farms and vendors
- Sort, clean, and store fruits, vegetables, and herbs according to food safety standards
- Assist the culinary team with produce preparation (washing, peeling, chopping, etc.)
- Maintain daily inventory records of incoming and outgoing ingredients
- Collaborate with chefs to ensure optimal ingredient use and minimal waste
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the harvest prep area
- Educate team members on seasonal produce and sustainable sourcing practices
- Follow kitchen safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior kitchen, prep, or produce-handling experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of organic produce and sustainable food practices
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for health-conscious and environmentally responsible food
- Hourly Pay: $18 – $22 (depending on experience)
