Position: Barback - TAO Downtown Restaurant New York
Location: New York

Barback – TAO Downtown Restaurant New York

Join Tao Group Hospitality as a part‑time barback at our downtown venue. The role supports bartenders and serves guests while maintaining a clean, organized bar.

Responsibilities
  • Stock and re‑stock all bar inventories and supplies.
  • Assist bartenders and cocktail servers in all aspects of guest service.
  • Anticipate and accommodate guests' needs in a timely manner.
  • Ensure delivery of all food and beverage to guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar, bar area, and entire venue.
  • Set up bar stations, perform opening/closing side‑work, and follow beverage requisition procedures.
  • Set up bar equipment and wipe down surfaces.
  • Keep back‑of‑house storage and refrigeration clean and organized.
  • Manage liquor displays, shelving, and par levels.
  • Report breakage or damage to management immediately.
  • Attend pre‑service meetings and training sessions.
  • Participate in daily duties and additional tasks as assigned.
Training
  • On‑site barback training conducted by Tao Group Hospitality.
Qualifications
  • Previous hospitality experience.
  • Previous bar‑back experience.
  • Experience in high‑volume restaurants, nightclubs, or lounges.
Skills & Physical Demands
  • Good verbal communication.
  • Positive energy throughout the day.
  • Strong written communication and legible printing.
  • Ability to stand extended periods and move quickly.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in noisy, crowded environments.
  • Willingness to work irregular shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exposure to cleaning materials and hot kitchen elements.
  • Professional appearance and confidentiality.
  • Team‑player attitude and courteous interaction with guests, managers, and co‑workers.
