Per Diem Cook Helper – NYC; Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan

About the Role:

We are seeking reliable Per Diem Cook Helpers to support meal preparation in secure juvenile facilities across Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Manhattan
. Hours vary based on daily needs, so flexibility is essential.

• Support Cooks with food prep and meal service
• Wash, chop, and portion ingredients
• Maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen
• Operate kitchen tools safely
• Follow recipes and portion guidelines
• Assist with receiving and organizing supplies
• Work respectfully with security and facility staff

• Kitchen or food-prep experience required
• Institutional experience is a plus
• Able to stand long periods and lift 40–50 lbs
• Must pass background checks
• Dependable, punctual, and adaptable
• Spanish-speaking candidates encouraged

• 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• 11:30 AM – 7:30 PM
• 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  (Weekend/holiday availability required)

• $21.54/hour per diem
• Gain experience within NYC facilities
