We have an opening for full and part time MAITRE D positions.

  • Location: Tatiana Restaurant - 132 West 65th Street, New York, NY 10023
  • Schedule: Full time and part time schedules. Tuesday - Saturday, hours may vary. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. More details upon interview.
  • Requirement: Previous hospitality experience required.
  • Pay Range: $25.00 per hour to $30.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Seats guests in dining room. Ensures customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Promptly and warmly greet guests and accompany them to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements.
  • Oversee guest flow within the restaurant.
  • Manage reservations system.
  • Promote an overall enjoyable dining experience; maintain a clean, safe and neat environment.
  • Advise guests on menu and beverage selections.
  • Liaise between kitchen staff and dining room staff.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to get along well with others; demonstrate flexibility, patience, and a willingness to communicate with guests and staff.
  • Supervise the activities of food‑service associates in the dining room to ensure proper customer service, food handling and sanitation procedures are followed.
  • Make special occasion arrangements for guests; promote special in‑house events.
  • Help train new food‑service team members and provide ongoing customer‑service training.
  • Supervise the closing of the assigned dining room; ensure servers complete side work and station set‑up.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency safety procedures; assist with evacuation of guests to safety in the event of an emergency.
  • Help bus tables and serve food/beverages when necessary while maintaining safe food‑handling and sanitation standards.
  • May operate equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines.
  • Work with staff of other departments to perform job duties during special events or functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
