About the Volunteer Opportunity
At Broadway Community’s Soup Kitchen, volunteers play a vital role in serving our most vulnerable neighbors with dignity, care, and compassion. Each day, we prepare and serve gourmet, multicourse meals—completely free of charge—to guests experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, or other serious life challenges. As a volunteer, you’ll assist with preparing and distributing breakfast and lunch, serving beverages, receiving deliveries, washing dishes, maintaining a clean workspace, and supporting our kitchen team in crafting thoughtful, nourishing meals.
All meals are designed and prepared under the leadership of our talented Chef, Timothy Fields. No prior training is necessary—we’ll guide you every step of the way.
You’ll work closely with our Volunteer Coordinator and alongside a warm, dedicated team that believes everyone who walks through our doors deserves to be treated with respect and care. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old to serve independently; those under 13 are welcome with a parent or guardian. Whether you're plating meals, pouring coffee, or helping unload food donations, your presence will make a real and lasting difference.
