Dishwasher/Kitchen Steward (Brick Walk Cafe)/Seasonal Employment

Location: The Athenaeum Hotel, 3 S Lake Dr, Chautauqua, NY 14722, USA

Starting at $16 per hour, with potential to earn up to $17.50 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

• Sweep and mop kitchen throughout the day
• Clean restrooms
• Manage kitchen trash, break down cardboard boxes
• Clean customer-facing trash cans inside and out
• Power wash sidewalks in front of Brick Walk Cafe and patio decks
• Clean windows
• Wipe down and sanitize all prep areas
• Deep clean ovens and kitchen equipment
• Help organize the storeroom

Seasonal employment during summer operations starting June and concluding in August. Flexible schedules, 8-hour shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Schedules may also include pre-season and post-season as business needs allow.

No employer-provided housing. Applicants should secure independent housing within a commutable distance.

Chautauqua Institution is a not-for-profit global convener of dialogue on the most significant issues of the day through engagement across four pillars: arts, education, religion, and recreation. The community is located on the shores of Chautauqua Lake and comes alive each summer with a mix of visual and performing arts, lectures, and recreational activities. The institution owns and operates Chautauqua Hotel Company.

Chautauqua Institution’s Referral Bonus Program offers a $500 referral bonus (after taxes) for active employees who refer a new candidate who is hired and remains employed for at least 90 days from the first physical date of work. For seasonal positions less than 6 months, the new candidate must remain employed for at least 30 days and until the closing date of the season (last Sunday in August).

No prior restaurant experience required for this position.
