Production Cook- Senior & Community Programs

We're looking for a reliable, hardworking Production Cook to join our kitchen team. We cook high-volume meals every day for senior meal programs and community organizations. This is institutional cooking, not restaurant or banquet work: large batches made from standardized recipes, cooked on time and to the same standard every day.

Responsibilities
• Cook large-batch hot menu items following standardized recipes and portion guidelines
• Prepare and pack hot food in hotel pans for senior centers that serve meals on site
• Operate high-volume kitchen equipment safely and correctly
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and temperature control standards
• Keep workstations clean and organized
• Tell kitchen management about inventory and supply needs
• Work efficiently to meet daily production deadlines Requirements
• At least 2 years of experience as a cook in a high-volume kitchen (institutional, commissary, hospital, school, catering, or similar)
• Ability to follow recipes exactly and consistently
• Knowledge of food safety and kitchen sanitation
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
• Reliable and punctual; early morning start Preferred
• NYC Food Protection Certificate
• Experience with tilt skillets (braising pans), steam kettles, convection ovens, and Rational combi ovens
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
